- Info: maintenance construction vessel Thialf
Thialf is a deepwater construction vessel (DCV). With its length of over 200 meter and width of 88 meter it is the largest crane vessel in the world and the pride of the Heerema Marine Contractors fleet.
Thialf is capable of a tandem lift of 14,200 t (15,600 short tons). Its two cranes provide for a depth reach lowering capability as well as a heavy lift capacity to install topsides. This multi-functional dynamic positioned DCV is customized for the installation of foundations, moorings, SPARs, TLPs, and integrated topsides, as well as pipelines and flowlines.
In september, the vessel visited the harbour of Rotterdam for maintenance. Venus & De Waard assisted in replacing the runnerwheels of both cranes on the platform.
